CZ LOKO Takes Part in the Largest Russian Railway Trade Fair, EXPO 1520

The CZ LOKO Company took part in EXPO 1520, the 5th International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies, together with the ZEPPELIN GmbH Company. Visitors could inspect the completely modernised six-axle CME3-M locomotive.

The class CME3-M locomotive is designed for heavy shunting and line service on national and regional railways and sidings with a 1,520 mm gauge. This six-axle diesel locomotive is powered by the 970 kW CAT 3508B diesel engine with Siemens traction and auxiliary alternators. It weighs 20.5 tonnes per axle and runs with AC/DC electric power transmission. The locomotive is designed as a hood unit, with the tower engine driver’s cab placed close to the rear of the main-frame buffer beam. The wheelset arrangement is C‘o C‘o. The maximum locomotive speed is 95 km/h.

EXPO 1520, the first and only railway fair in the wide-gauge area is a biennial trade fair held at the testing circuit in Sherbinka near Moscow. It features an exhibition and a specialised conference which explores all major aspects of rolling stock manufacturing.
This year, it took place from 2nd to 5th September, 2015 and professionals could participate in a panel discussion about 3D printing solutions in the railway industry.

In previous years, the CZ LOKO Company presented several novelties designed for the wide-gauge area. One of which is the modern four-axle TEM LTX locomotive, which is based on the class 744 AC/AC locomotive, the TEM 35 hybrid shunting locomotive and the TEM 33 double engine shunting locomotive.
